Anglia Ruskin is an innovative global university with students from 185 countries coming to study with us. Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university in East Anglia, United Kingdom. It has its origins in the Cambridge School of Art, founded by William John Beamont in 1858. It became a university in 1992 and was renamed after John Ruskin in 2005. We’re ranked in the top 20 universities for teaching excellence in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2017, with six subjects in the top 10 UK higher education institutions for teaching excellence: Philosophy, Sport Science, Criminology, Sociology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Business Studies. As well as this, our Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Silver award recognizes the quality of our courses and high levels of student satisfaction. ARU is the only UK University to be named a global 'rising star'.

Our campuses are at the heart of four exciting cities: Cambridge, Chelmsford, London and Peterborough.

Cambridge Campus - has high-quality study facilities – lecture theatres of course, but also a mock law court, forensic science labs, and a TV studio. It also has a brand-new Science Centre featuring molecular biology and psychology labs, a 220-seat Super Lab, and five crime scene rooms. The Campus house the university library and open access computer area cafés and roof terraces. Two major tourist attractions -the Mumford Theatre and Ruskin Gallery are owned and maintained by ARU. Last but not the least a range of services including our Students’ Union shop, medical center, gym, Employment Bureau, and finance and accommodation offices.

Chelmsford Campus - In one of England's newest cities, our riverside campus is made up of striking, modern buildings that house state-of-the-art facilities, including Essex's first School of Medicine. One of the largest business schools in the East of England, based in the award-winning Lord Ashcroft Building. The Campus also offers high-quality study facilities – lecture theatres of course, but also mock hospital wards and our medical science SuperLabs. Lastly, Arise Chelmsford, an innovation center to support businesses that are just starting out.
